Meet Kyra, Rodney, and baby boy. I got the pleasure of shooting Kyra & Rodney’s couple’s maternity session not too long ago. Wedding: Randa & Ronnie

I don’t even know where to begin with this wedding, with this couple. I want to show you every single image but I can’t. See, Randa is a hijabi and that means that she has to keep her head covered as is traditionally worn by Muslim women. This means I can’t show most of the images here, but let me just tell you this bride looked GORGEOUS on wedding day.

Randa & Ronnie are such beautiful people, and it was so evident throughout their wedding day by how they treated everyone around them. I have known Randa for a few years now and she is just one of those people—the kind of person who makes you feel like the most important part of her day, no matter what the occasion. I have never had a bride ask me over and over and over and OVER if I needed anything on her wedding day. To say that this girl has a heart of gold would be an understatement (unless it’s like diamond incrusted gold). She is the kind of person who goes halfway around the world for missions to help those less fortunate. She is the kind of person who organizes fundraisers all in the name of helping others. She is the kind of person that makes me want to be a better person. She has a drive & passion for helping others that can only be a gift from God. I feel honored to have documented this woman.

I didn’t get to know Ronnie as well, but can tell that he is head over heels in love. I absolutely loved watching them as they had their first look with each other. Randa came from behind and tapped Ronnie on the shoulder and as he turned around to see his wife for the first time, his eyes got bigger and you could not keep him from smiling. You could feel the love pouring out of him. It was just amazing to watch them together.

Randa & Ronnie, you both are absolutely beautiful from the inside out and I feel so honored to have documented your love. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your big day. Much love.

A Year In Photos: 2011

I have had an incredible year. I have risen and fallen but most of all, I have gotten back up so much stronger when I did fall. I have learned so much about life, love, people, inspiration and business. I cannot be any more in love with what I do or the beautiful people I had the opportunity to shoot. I cannot be more thankful for all the great opportunities, business and personal, that came my way. I cannot be any more in love with weddings, and love, and seniors, and people than I am at this very moment. And I cannot WAIT for all the fierceness that 2012 will bring. In truth, I have not blogged many of my shoots this year because of lack of time, but here are some photos from the sessions I did blog. And to all of my clients, blogged and not blogged, I want to say a big thank you for being so super fierce. May 2012 bring you only the good things in life. Much love peps!

Engaged: Elizabeth & Edward

What can I say about a girl whose smile rivals sunshine and a guy who makes that girl happy? I can lay out a book about this couple really, but I won’t. I want to tell you about how they met, about what they do, about how absolutely adorable they are together, but I think I will save all of that for their wedding blog. For now, I give you Elizabeth and Edward, two beautiful people in love.

I loved getting to know this sweet couple and hearing about their life together and who they are. Oh, and Elizabeth has a smile that can light up even the darkest of places. I loved her smile and her eyes and her spirit and her, but what I will remember MOST about this engagement session was how easy Edward and Elizabeth made each other laugh. They are simply beautiful together, and I am one lucky girl to be documenting their love.

Elizabeth & Edward, thank you so much for the trust. I LOVED your engagement session. Thank you for being so open to try everything I suggested. I look forward to getting to know you even more and I absolutely can’t wait to shoot your April 2012 wedding.

Seniors: Anisha

I loved her shoes. As I walked across the street to meet Anisha for her senior session, all I could think about was how much I loved her shoes. “Just a warning,” she said, “I’m going to be a little shy.” Sounds like a challenge to me, and I love me a challenge.

In reality, Anisha was one of the easiest seniors I have ever shot. The girl is fierce without any help and totally blew me away by the end of the session. Plus we shot at the Central West End and I just LOVE that place.

Anisha, girl you are gorgeous. I love that you were one of the quietest seniors I have ever shot, yet one of the most fierce too. It was so nice shooting you and I thank you so much for the opportunity. Much love, lady.

Giving Thanks (late)

I seriously can’t believe how fast this year has gone by. I feel like I just celebrated my 24th year in life, and now I’m about to celebrate my 25th. Oh geez I’m old, but since we just celebrated Thanksgiving I thought I would share a few things that I am thankful for before the year wraps up.

Teenagers: for keeping me young and laughing at our senior sessions; for always being willing to hop fences, try crazy poses, and even trespassing with me without blinking an eye.
Family: honestly, my family members are some of the funniest people on Earth and I’m just now (this year) truly beginning to appreciate their awesomeness.
Hot trainer guy at Club Fitness: for allowing me to call him “hot trainer guy” for about 7 months (I STILL don’t know his name); for motivating me to lose 25 pounds this year, and for making exercise fun. I must say, I kind of love him a lot.
Best friends: I have 5 of them and they all bring so much love and laughter in my life that I can only be thankful for them.
Fun brides and grooms with crazy unique weddings.
Life. Nuff said.

Wedding: Nichole & Matt

Matt & Nichole got MARRIED! They hired me last year to shoot their October 2011 wedding and after an awesome engagement session, I was so excited for their big day. The engagement session was incredible and the wedding was gorgeous.
